Terms
Terms of service
The agreement between you and us: what we provide, what we do not promise, and how disputes are handled.

1. The agreement
These terms govern your use of texasemotionalsupportanimalletter.org and the referral service operated by TEXAS ESA LLC. By submitting an intake or paying a fee, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. What we provide, and what we do not
We provide screening and a referral to a mental health professional licensed in Texas, together with administrative support. We do not provide health care and we do not write letters. Therapists are independent professionals who exercise their own judgment. We do not control, direct or review the substance of a clinical opinion.
No outcome is promised. Nothing on this site is a guarantee that a therapist will support your request, that a letter will be issued, or that a housing provider will grant an accommodation. A housing provider’s decision is outside our control and outside the therapist’s.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older, located in Texas at the time of the evaluation, and able to provide accurate information. Texas location matters because therapist licensure is state-based.
4. Your obligations
- Give accurate and complete information. A clinical opinion built on false information is worthless to you and exposes you to risk.
- Do not use any letter to claim rights an emotional support animal does not have. In Texas, intentionally or knowingly representing that an animal is an assistance or service animal when it is not specially trained or equipped is a criminal offense.
- Do not alter, forge, resell or reproduce a letter, or share it as a template.
- Do not ask a therapist to state something they do not believe. We will end the engagement.
5. Fees
The current fee is $129, charged once. It covers intake review, the evaluation and the letter if issued. It is a fee for professional time, not a payment for a favorable outcome. Refunds are governed by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
6. Not medical or legal advice
The site provides general information. It is not medical advice, mental health treatment, diagnosis or legal advice. Using the site does not create a therapist–patient relationship, which arises only between you and a therapist in an actual evaluation, and never creates an attorney–client relationship. See the full disclaimer.
7. Emergencies
This is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
8. Intellectual property
The content of this site belongs to TEXAS ESA LLC. You may read, print and share it for personal use. You may not republish it commercially, or scrape it for training or resale, without written permission.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
[Have counsel draft this. It should describe the service as provided without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded, disclaim liability for a housing provider’s decisions and for independent therapists’ professional judgment, and cap aggregate liability at the fees you paid, to the extent Texas law permits.]
10. Governing law and disputes
Texas law governs. [State your chosen venue, whether arbitration applies and on what terms, and whether small claims and individual actions are preserved. Consumer arbitration clauses are heavily scrutinized; take advice.]
11. Changes and termination
We may update these terms, with a new date posted here; continued use after a material change is acceptance. We may decline or end service to anyone who provides false information, asks a therapist to misstate an opinion, or misuses a letter.
