Refunds
Refund policy
What is refundable, what is not, and why a guaranteed-approval refund promise is a warning sign rather than a benefit.

The principle
The fee buys a licensed professional’s time and, if they support it, a letter. So the letter portion is refundable and the time already spent generally is not. This is the opposite of a “money back if not approved’’ guarantee, and deliberately.
Full refund
- You cancel before your evaluation, for any reason.
- A coordinator declines your intake, in which case you are not charged at all.
- We cannot schedule you with a Texas-licensed therapist within [10] business days.
- A therapist issues a letter that is materially defective and cannot be corrected.
- You are charged in error, or twice.
Partial refund
- The therapist declines to support the request. The letter portion, currently $[amount] of the $129 fee, is refunded. The evaluation portion is retained because the appointment happened.
- You withdraw after the evaluation but before the letter is written. Same treatment.
No refund
- A housing provider denies your accommodation request. The letter is documentation, not an outcome, and no therapist or company controls a landlord’s decision.
- You miss your appointment without [24] hours’ notice, or do not attend. [State whether one reschedule is allowed.]
- You wanted the letter for air travel, public access or a workplace. Those uses are described plainly throughout this site before you pay.
- You gave inaccurate information that affected the evaluation.
- You relocate outside Texas after the letter is issued.
How to request one
Email contact@texasemotionalsupportanimalletter.org with the name on the booking and the date. We respond within [3] business days and process approved refunds to the original payment method within [5 to 10] business days, depending on your bank.
Chargebacks
Write to us first. Most disputes are misunderstandings about what the fee covered, and we would rather resolve them directly than through a card network.
Why no approval guarantee
A promise of a refund if you are not approved only means something if approval is uncertain. In practice such promises accompany services where approval is effectively automatic, which is exactly the questionnaire-driven documentation that HUD’s guidance identifies as insufficient on its own. A letter that was never in doubt is a letter a landlord’s attorney can dismantle.
